Neighbors Thought Shooting Victim was Halloween Dummy

In Marina del rey there was a man who was shot in the head and lying outside on the balcony of his apartment. It took four days to notify the cops because they thought it was a sick Halloween prank. Jerry McKibben from the LA county departmentof Coroner says, "... Everything is pointing to it being a suicide."

This article is pretty short but it tells a lot of information. I think this was a halloween stunt. The man was 75 years old and he probably wanted to go out with a bang. I don't get how the neighbors didn't notice that the dead person was real and not some doll.

  2. I think that sometimes people go at extreme measures to make Halloween pranks and such. I think it's hard to believe that no one noticed it was a real dead person. I hope that when people read the article consider that a dead person lying on the floor is not a good Halloween prank.

  3. Its A Sick World We Live In. Like You Said...The Man Probably Wanted To Just Go Out With A Bang. I Don't Understand How People Wouldn't Mistake It For Being A Dummy Though.

  4. While this was a pretty big local story, I would have liked for you to provide a broader summary of the story. I'd also like you to analyze this more. What does it say about society that a person can be dead for days without anyone noticing? What is it about this story that fascinates us? Shouldn't the news have more answers (like if it really was a prank or if it was suicide, etc) before hypothesizing?
